Retro Portfolio: FoodProtectionEducation.org

The second phase of the FoodProtectionEducation.org project I worked on at MSU’s Division of University Relations saw a new design implemented in an effort to mimic the design of their parent site, that of the National Center for Food Protection and Defense at the University of Minnesota.

The new design was pulled together using elements of the NCFPD site and, on the MSU end of things, did not have a designer involved. Instead, I put together a rough draft of the site design using the NCFPD template.

Like the original, the new version of the site was developed using XHTML 1.0 Transitional with CSS-based formatting and layout.

The challenge this time around was to fit the FPE content into the NCFPD’s design without giving up on the FPE identity.

I was not entirely happy with the result but both FPE and the NCFPD said that they were. At the point that this template was implemented, I’m not sure what else I could have done.

The above text and images were copied directly from my original portfolio as I imported it over to the blog. It was not updated for re-publishing. This project launched in January 2006.
