I’ve had a hard time with inspiration lately.
A little while ago I started experimenting with mixing my own paints and learning the science behind that and I just haven’t been able to get it right. As I fought with that, suddenly months had passed and I hadn’t created anything worth showing.
I got a split cup for Christmas and decided to break out the pre-mixed paints I already had and do something. After one misfire, I had something I liked.
It feels like a snowdrift so I call it “Polar.” I like the play of the matte lavender color with the glossy “Storm Purple” (one of my favorites from Arteza).
All I did was drop lavender, Storm Purple, and white in the split cup, set it on the panel on a turntable, and give it a spin. I didn’t get nearly the flow out of the cup that I expected. I’m going to have to look into that further.
Even with it not during out how I expected, I really like it, and it feels good to have created something again.
