Retro Hockey Challenge was a proposed charity event to raise money for Child’s Play charity. It would have been a video game marathon centered around 1990s-era hockey video games.
The logo for Retro Hockey Challenge was designed to invoke an “old-time hockey” feel, deliberately older than the video games that would have been played. A simple block font spelled out “Retro Hockey Challenge” in a circle with a bar across it. In the remaining space inside the circle, a set of crossed hockey sticks and a generic video game controller appear. It was then angled slightly.
A dark blue and white were the only colors used, both to continue the “vintage” feel and to make the logo easy to reproduce.
The above text and image were copied directly from my original portfolio as I imported it over to the blog. It was not updated for re-publishing. This project launched in September 2011.
