The site for the now-closed Tree’s Wings and Ribs of Greenacres, FL, was the first project that O6 Web Services collaborated with ikandy interactive on, as they built the user side of the site in Macromedia Flash while we handled the construction of the site’s administration tools.
The user side of the site was developed in Flash, making it difficult for the site owner to update content when needed. To solve this problem, we built administration tools that allowed an admin to make edits to the page content and store the changes in a database. When a user visits the site, the content is loaded into the site from the database using Flash’s ActionScript “loadVars” function and a PHP script.
The system was fairly simple and solved the problem of editing content in a Flash-driven site.
The above text and images were copied directly from the portfolio of my former development company, O6 Web Services, as I imported it over to this blog. It was not updated for re-publishing. This project launched in July 2004.
